Apple has done it again. With yet another catchy iPod commercial, they outed my favorite band for the last few months. The Fratellis. I dont mind somewhat, because Apple, along with Vivid Entertainment, top my favorite companies list, but Im afraid now that they will get over exposed, something that will be a complete balls up. Songs get absolutely killed when they are overplayed, ie the Vancouver Radio scene. Whcih can be a dear shame because the Fratellis are awesome; a punk influenced Scottish band, with just enough of a twist so its a little different and fresh, their music and songs comes off that they are just in it for the fun and having laugh (r u having a laugh?) Flathead & Chelsea Dagger are the recognizable singles.
Good thing is The Fratellis arent even released in North America yet and wont be until well into March. Calm that tide for the meantime.
Anyways yet another pop culture reference for the time being. Chalk that up under "Brit Rock / Alternative". Aka white music.
And since its Feb 14th, just for today, I also recommend listening to an oldie; "Only You' by Yazoo. Great slow dance /make out tune. Happy Valentines Day.
